Fixing a corrupted user account

Hello,
Desktop icon restore is very cool!  I was trying to use it to restore my icon layout after my user profile became corrupted.  The problem is i don't see the saved file in the new rebuilt account.  What am I doing wrong?

The information is save in a per-user registry key, so it will not appear in a newly created account.  The key is:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JOConnell\DeskTop
