MIDI-OX User Forum    General    Desktop Icon Save and Restore (Moderator: Jamie OConnell)    Desktop Restore restores icons to wrong location « Previous topic | Next topic » Pages: 1  Reply Notify of replies Send Topic Print    Author  Topic: Desktop Restore restores icons to wrong location  (Read 1707 times) Wizzzzard New Member MIDI-OX Rules!     Posts: 1 Desktop Restore restores icons to wrong location « on: Mar 7th, 2009, 10:17pm » Quote Modify After losing the layout of my 70 odd icons once again I decided to see if there was a program that could save the locations.   I found this program and thought ah ha the holy grail, I decided to test it by moving 1 icon and then using restore, after several attempts the icon was restored too two different locations 1 being correct.   I thought ok what happens if i drag my icons around and jumble them up, after selecting restore they certainly were not restored to there correct locations and upon selecting restore again the icons were moved again but not correctly, I found that if I continue to click restore it randomly messes up my icons more and more with each restore.   I decided to test it on another computer and all though it was able to restore 1 or 2 icons correctly it was only able to restore 10% of my icons after changing my resolution, selecting restore again randomly moves the incorrectly located icons around the desktop.   This program fails!   This forum also fails, I am a member of at least 25-30 forums so I know the routine but after filling in my details to join this forum i was told the user name is already in use so i tried a different name and was told my email was in use, I checked my email and found that my first attempt was successful even though i was told the user name was in use, WHAT THE! « Last Edit: Mar 8th, 2009, 11:39pm by Wizzzzard » IP Logged Jamie OConnell Administrator     Gender: Posts: 2027 Re: Desktop Restore restores icons to wrong locati « Reply #1 on: Mar 9th, 2009, 4:21am » Quote Modify I haven't seen that problem at all (and this is the first report on that).  You do know that you have to save a layout for each resolution?  What OS are you running?  Do you have Windows Icon settings configured as specified in the readme?           IP Logged --Jamie Music is its own reward.
