MIDI-OX User Forum    MIDI-OX    Mapping Questions (Moderator: Jamie OConnell)    Data and Patch mapping « Previous topic | Next topic » Pages: 1  Reply Notify of replies Send Topic Print    Author  Topic: Data and Patch mapping  (Read 1250 times) gmcerveny New Member MIDI-OX Rules!     Posts: 6 Data and Patch mapping « on: Aug 21st, 2002, 1:25pm » Quote Modify Objectives:   1.  Setup data maps for my midiman oxygen 8 midi controller so that the 8 knobs are mapped to different controller values.   2.  Setup low end of keyboard to send program changes to change the data maps that govern the knobs.  The lower octave will serve as a datamap selector.     What I've done:   I've setup 2 working datamaps:   cm101_osc.oxm and cm101_filt.oxm   In these two data maps I've also included: * * Note on 12 12 * * 1 ProgChng 0 0 * * * * Note on 14 14 * * 1 ProgChng 1 1 * *   In my patch map I've setup: 0   C:\cm101_osc.oxm 1   C:\cm101_filt.oxm   The datamaps seem to be working alright, I just can't seem to get it to recognize the program changes for the patch map.     Any hints??? IP Logged Jamie OConnell Administrator     Gender: Posts: 2027 Re: Data and Patch mapping « Reply #1 on: Aug 21st, 2002, 6:44pm » Quote Modify The problem is that a map result of a Program Change can't be supplied to the Patch Mapping facility: the Program Change must arrive as original data.   You could accomplish this by 2 MIDI-OX instances connected by MIDI Yoke: the first instance maps the low octaves into Program Change messages, the 2nd instance swaps patch maps based on those program changes.
