2 questions - one easy, the other.....

hi 1. Can you add command lines to midiox.exe shortcuts so that 2 instances (with different mappings) launch at startup - like you can do with Hubi's ? 2. Here we go (again).... My current setup: HARDWARE: DAW 1 2.4 GHz P4 DAW sw1000 xg (MIDI In + Out) rme multiface + pci card (Midi In + Out) Kenton Control Freak (Midi In, Out + Thru) Kenton Plugstation (Midi In, Out + Thru) Ensoniq sdp-1 keyboard (Midi In, Out + Thru) Roland pc-180 keyboard (Midi Out) DAW 2 P3 800 with gigastudio Audiophile 2496 SOFTWARE: MidiOx + Yoke Cubase SX XGpad Win XP Midi routing: DAW 1 pc180 ----> sdp-1 In sdp-1 Out ---> CF In sdp-1 Thru ----> Yamaha sw1000 In CF Out ----> RME Multiface In sw1000 Out -----> plugstation sw1000 + rme midi In ----> yoke 1 xgpad: Midi In = yoke 1, Out 1 = yoke, Out 2 = yoke 3, Out 3 (plugstation) = sw1000 Midi Out Cubase SX = all midi inputs enabled, outputs sw1000 #1, sw1000 #2, sw1000 Out (for plugstation) as appropriate DAW 2 CF Thru ----> Audiophile 2496 XGpad sits "before" SX for controlling various aspects of sw1000 and plugstation plg cards, so I have it sending the midi data onwards into SX, which then delivers the data to sw1000/plugstation. With this setup, DAW 2 receives midi data from the sdp-1 only which is fine cause I use it for more "acoustic" work e.g. pianos, strings etc.. However it would be nice to send CF data to both DAW,s - do I need a separate interface for this ? DAW 1 receives pc-180, spd-1 and CF data, which is also what I want. Is this the optimal setup using MidiOx/Yoke ? One problem I have at the moment is that sw1000/plugstation bank + instrument selection only responds to xgpad NOT SX. Ideally I want to select from Cubase. Is anything in above routing causing this ? Is it OK to have both xgpad and SX accessing sw1000 Midi Out at the same time ? thanks for your patience swayzak

1) Sure, just save and then launch each instance with a different Profile. The help file describes this feature pretty well. 2) It seems reasonable, but you might consider trying XGPad and SX in parallel rather than in series, attached to the SW1000. Does XGPad need any MIDI input at all?

thanks I don't think xgpad needs to be in series - it just what the pictures in the sw1000 and xgpad manuals seem to show. Actually, MW over at the SoS forum suggested that I could just send a MIDI cable out from DAW 1 to the Audiophile MIDI In of DAW 2. Then all keyboards + CF data would be available to gigastudio via a "gigastudio" midi track in Cubase SX. So I wouldn't have to worry about complicated (for me !) cabling. swayzak
