Trying to NOT use SX's Input Transformer

Hi ALL! I want to be ABLE to play live. Didn't say i'd be playing LIVE yet GEE it would be amazing to not fall over techwise after years of this, and maybe even get out the door. The OX features BIG, now that I've sussed out the SAFE AND powerful way forward. OK.... What I do is setup a cubase SX song with a lot of tracks highlighted so that whatever midi input I have as the input to each of the tracks will PLAY the VST. Cool so far. I'll keep it short here. I've plugged an MT4 4 out midiface which is JUST for midi--OX (no yoke) so i have my keyboard which I do program changes from via a Midi foot controller I plugged the 4 outs of the MT4 into the first 4 inputs of the unitor 8 which is seen by Cubase SX. I highlight a bunch of tracks in SX and voila whatever port the SX tracks are set to PLAY the VST. Not many VST's are channellizable. So I've been having to use Input transformers to force whatever is coming in on that track to GO to ONLY ONE channel PER track. I'm not being that clear. WHAT I want is the .OXM patch mapping loading feature to rereoute the MIDI PORTS as well. Now I have read a bit on the Forums on this. I'm just not that clear on what the BEST way to do it is. Can anyone help. It's really that SX CAN be set to recieve on 1 channel OR ANY as you probably know. It's just that I can't find a way for the VST to receive on ONLY one channel. Sheesh.... talk about being long winded and I'm still not that clear on it here. I have read about CAREFULLY deleting ports in the midi ports OX page etc. AND I think the OX WILL load the PORT assignments etc. AND I am aware that it only ADDS to what is already open. So it's not really something I want to get LOST in. Any ideas about what I CAN'T or CAN do greatly appreciated. twerp AND NOW....back to the OX..... she's a SOXY OX!
