Selective velocity mapping with multiple keyboards

hi I've just noticed that the map I applied affects BOTH keyboards (e.g. the Input field = *). It seems that you can only apply mapping selectively per midi channel NOT per port. Now this works fine if I send the ensoniq on channel 1 (with 1 selected in input field) and the Roland on ch 2. But some programs are fussy about the send channel e.g. Reason only allows a single "global" input channel ie default = 1). Therefore with the above setup I can't get Reason to respond to the Roland Is there a way I can map this velocity transform to the ensoniq alone, whilst still merging both keyboards into a single instance of MidiYoke ? It would be nice to apply the transform per port OR per midi channel....

We need more info to give a good reply. Global data maps affect all connections. Per-port data maps affect only the connections they are specified for. How are you specifiying your map (i.e. is it global or per-port)? In MIDI-OX 6.5.1 there are some bugs that can affect how the port data-maps operate if you don't refresh the openings (Options | MIDI Devices... [OK]). The latest Beta is much better in this regard: what version are you using?

Look in the Help File under MIDI Devices... Routing. Basically, in that dialog, you will see a list of maps that can be assigned, listed inside the Port Map Objects pane (it finds the maps by using the Map Folder set in Options | Folders...). To assign a Map to an input-output port connection you drag the map up to the Port Mapping pane and drop it on an Output - Input port connection (drop it on the input port). It will now appear as being part of the connection, along with Channels and System. There's a somewhat easier method in the new MIDI-OX (the routing view), but you'll have to get the Beta for that.
