MIDI OX to replace MIDI Mapper?

Just got MIDIOX a while ago, but haven't been using it yet.
Because I've been going deaf due to autoimmune inner-ear disease  , I've been using 3.1 MIDI Mapper patch- and pitch maps via the usual SYSTEM.INI/CONTROL.INI hacks on Windows 98SE, and it works fine. I have to keep increasing the transposition value as my highs vanish.
But if I switch to Windows XP, I can't find a way of running MMer under that OS, so I was wondering if I can set up MIDIOX to provide the same functionality under that OS as MMer provides (kludged) under WIN 9x -- i.e., patch- and pitch maps, as well as entire setups.
I have a raft of old MIDI units with this setup: A Roland D-110 using Chs. 7-15 (remapped from 1- , a Korg DW-8000 on 15 (remapped from 9, a SYSEX-handshaking keyboard), and two paralleled Yamaha FB-01s on 11-16 (remapped from 1-6). My multi-megabytes' worth of MIDI sequences are all coded for this setup, so I obviously can't go back and redo them all. This setup is cloned twice: One uses no transposition (for recording my CDs), the other transposes 7 semitones down (a fifth) using the patch map "Melodic shift" that uses the key map "-7 semitones".
I have one-to-one (no channel map) setup for General MIDI that uses the same transpose-down patch/key map.
What I'd like are some hints on how to set up MIDIOX to emulate MIDI Mapper Setups and patch- & key maps, and how to configure it to connect to the standard default MIDI In and Out ports so that it functions instead of MIDI Mapper. Then, once I get it working under Win 98SE, I should be able to "upgrade" (note the quotes) to XP and use MIDIOX to keep working with MIDI music as long as I'm not stone deaf. Otherwise, once MS stops supporting Win9x (2005, allegedly), I'd be a cyber-orphan (like the Atarians).

It is possible, using a combination of MIDI-OX and MIDI Yoke to setup maps to do pitch and patch transpositions. Basically, you send the output of the player (or sequencer) to MIDI Yoke and open MIDI Yoke in MIDI-OX, perform the Mapping in MIDI-OX and then output to the hardware.
Many sequencers provide simple note transposition capabilities also.
