Is this scenario possible ????

Hi, I'm a new user of Midi-Ox and I am trying to get it to help me solve all my problems ! I have a master midi keyboard and a stack of VST instruments sitting in my sequencer (currently Tracktion). I intend to use this setup to play the VSTi's live, on stage. I've managed to figure out a way to get each VSTi to respond to it's own midi channel and by changing midi output channels on my keyboard I can play each one as I wish. BUT !!! - I've had a better idea !! How about this.... if I set up the VSTi's to respond on seperate channels, can I get Midi-Ox to intercept a program change message from my keyboard and translate that into a midi channel change AND specific program change number on that channel ? In other words, have it so that I can call up my favourite patches on different VSTi's just by selecting a specific program number on my master keyboard. e.g. :- Prg 1 = B4 Organ, patch 23 Prg 2 = FM7 Synth, patch 4 Prg 3 = Lounge Lizard Piano, patch 53 ...etc, etc. ...just like it would be if I was playing the internal patches on my master keyboard. This way I could concentrate more on the playing and not have to mess with anything computer related while performing. I could just punch up my favourite sounds directly from my keyboard. Please tell me this is possible !! I know Midi-Ox can do it, I know it !!!!! ...erm, I just can't work out how yet !

HA ! Sorted it !!! I'm sure my method is probably the least elegant, but I've got it to do exactly what I want !!

aneng, So how'd you do it? I'm trying to do basically the same thing, only using the stand-alone versions of those programs. (Lizard, FM7, etc) I don't even know what Midi-OX is for yet. The website isn't clear. I just know is has something to do with Midi-Yoke. Heck, I'm not even sure if I need Midi-Yoke: On my PC, I have been able to get midi, simultaneously, to several apps at once, without any other software. However, patch changes are another story. Gigastudio is a nightmare, as it hogs all available ports, but I'm hoping that Mid-Yoke will sove that problem. A descripton of your setup might save me a LOT of time, so please do so if you have time. Thanks.

GigaStudio and MIDI Yoke often do not get along. If you have trouble with that you can try the Maple MIDI drivers: http://www.marblesound.com/

Aneng, I'd like to know what you've done to make the VSTi respond to your keyboard that way? Share your wisdom and save me from miles of hassle, I'm new to VSTi . First of all, what do I need to send to VSTi to make them change patches? Can I make my pitch bend to control some effects on VSTi? I'd really appreciate any advice....
