Does NoteOn Mapping imply a NoteOff mapping?

I notice that if I map a NoteOn 30H to some other note, that when I release the key, and generate a NoteOff 30H from my MIDI controller, MIDI-OX automatically sends the NoteOff message for the correctly mapped note. I didn't see any information in the documentation that confirms that messages mapped to NoteOn have an automatic mapping for the corresponding NoteOff message. Thank you for helping me better understand the mapping function in MIDI-OX.

Just as a thought -- is the controller really sending a NoteOff or a NoteOn with velocity 0?
