Mapping Cubase transport from MIDI start, stop, etc

Hi guys I would like Roland MC-808 groovebox to control Cubase's transport. The problem is 808 does not send MTC or MMC - only midi transport commands, which are in turn not recognizable by Cubase. Bad luck Is there a way to remap the midi transport commands into commands Cubase would follow? An example for one command would be sufficient illustration. Best T

Hi ! You don't need MIDIOX for doing this, even though it may be helpful, ie. for monitoring what is going on. Basically, you need to use the Generic Remote device. Don't be frustrated when you load it first and nothing works. It is a starting point for you, where can delete practically everything in it and start from scratch. However, it's really worthwhile. Once you managed a few simple tasks (like transport), you may see how much more you can do. Making use of the faders, the buttons, everything. Search the Cubase forum of Steinberg and/or the Cubase forum of Yahoo groups. You will find some hints there. Hope that helps best regards RKW
