I'm not racing to the forum without having put in some 'hard yards' with the manual, but some ground-floor info would, I'm sure, see me moving along more quickly.
 
In the mapping edit/insert window:
 
I'd be very grateful for a crib of the abbreviations in the drop-down event type list.
