MIDI-OX Capability

I have a Roland organ console midied to a Win 7 computer which has several Garritan music programs installed. I use the Garritan instruments to augment those of the Roland, and all of my use is for live playing. There are two applications that I would like to know if midiox will perform. 1. The Roland expression pedal transmits CC 11, but the virtual mod wheel on the Garritan sound engine requires CC 1. Can midiox accomplish this transposition? 2. The instrument sounds of the Garritan program sound on the standard midi key numbers. Since the Roland has two manuals, with lower manual split capability each with its own midi channel, and but no octave shifting for external midi output, I would like to transpose the Roland key no. outputs by octaves to move the Garritan sounds around the keyboards. For example, a trumpet in the lower manual of the Roland in the left hand position sounds more like a trombone and needs to be shifted an octave higher. Could midiox accomplish this? Thank you for your reply.

Subject to correction, and/or improvement by others: 1. Yes. Using MIDIOx mapping, you can change CC-11 to CC-1 2. Yes. Using, again, MIDI-mapping, you can change FOR any given channel, the transpositions you seek..As I recall, there is at least one example on how to do octave shifts of note-events. You find those at the "map" subdirectory (folder), they are the *.oxm files.., where ".oxm" I believe means OxMap...Look for Transpose*.oxm files and study/modify/test those. This means that you'd have to study and get familiar with MIDI-Ox MAPPING capabilities...And I suggest in simple discrete steps, verifying each. Little learning curve, but most benefitial, I'd say.

Thank you for your reply. Do I need only to add midiox to my computer to do the mapping, and will my installed music programs recognize the map changes. Or will I need any other software, such as midi yoke, or any additional hardware? Al diapason7
