MIDI output from Pipe Organ

The church pipe organ which I play has a MIDI output. I would like to use this together with an old Soundcanvas exapnder unit which I have to add extra voices to the organ.
I am no MIDI expert and the problem which I have is this: As well as outputting Note-On and Note-Off data, the organ's solid state action is outputting signals when notes are played, when stops are changed or when the Swell (Volume) pedal is operated. The expander unit is interpreting these codes as instructions to change the voice being played so that the two manuals and pedals all start playing various random voices. I have played with MIDIOX a bit today and have been trying to find a simple FILTER setting so that only the basic note information gets through to the expander unit - but without much success. If someone could give me some pointers to what to filter out I would be immensely grateful. A Wedding on Sunday would be enhanced no end if I could actually make Timpani appear on the pedals, rather than Bass Guitar or Glockenspiel!! Thanks in advance.
Will Light, Coventry.
