Help with FCB1010 Uno Mapping

I have been struggling with mapping midiox and loopmidi my controller software that I use for mapping to also be seen by my DAW so that I can change setting while also using the software. The controller is FCB1010/uno with mapping software FCBUnoControl Center. In midiox I choose my hardware input (mio) and then choose my two loopmidi outputs (loopmidi port 1 and 2(. In the routing window I connect the hardware input , mio, to the loopmidi port 1 and also to the loopmidi port 2. I then go to my mapping software and choose loopmidi port 1 for both my input and my output. And it freezes and does not connect. Is there a good tutorial for midiox as I really do not understand how to make the connections?

Hi When you get stuck like this it can pay if you draw the connection "path". So I don't assume anything... let's start with patch cables. All Midi cables (and audio cables) go from an Out socket to an In socket. Midi Thru is an Out socket. Never connect Out -> Out or In -> In If you connect two Midi devices (say 1 and 2) Out 1 to In 2 and Out 2 to In 1 you have a 'feedback' loop and equipment often locks up as data goes round and round and overloads things. Out 1 -> In 2 -> Out 2 --v ^____________________ loopMidi (or MidiYoke etc) are software Midi patch cables. So whatever you send into the Input comes out the Output. Just think of loopMidi 1 and loopMidi 2 as pieces of wire In your setup ... Mio -> loopMidi 1 In -> loopMidi 1 Out -> Mapping App as you have LoopMidi 1 as its Input -> loopMidi 2 But you have loopMidi 1 as the App's Output port as well loopMidi 1 -> Mapping App -> loppMidi 1 ***Feedback loop = not so good. Try Mio ->loopMidi1 -> Mapping App -> loopMidi3 (you can set up lots of extra loopMidi ports). Post again if you are still stuck. All the best Royce

Thank you. I think I got it and finally understand the routing. The issue I had was that i needed to restart midiox before the FCB1010 software noticed the new connection. Now it is working perfecly. Thanks
