Hardware-Merger for NRPNs

Hello! I'm working at a project, where I need to use a merger (8x8) like the Midisport (M-Audio) or the Unitor (Emagic / Apple) in stand-alone-mode. Some of my units send NRPN-commands that should get mixed. Because each NRPN uses 3/4 Midi-control-messages, I guess that not any merger can handle them correct and could fragment them. Is there anyone who has some experiences or knowlegdes about this problem? - Do you know a merger that works? Thanks a lot! - Regards Martin Holzhauer

It shouldn't really matter because there is no rule that says all 3 - 4 or even any 2 NRPN messages must be consecutive. As long as they are all arriving within a reasonable time (and even if not) your gear should work correctly. The only conflict I can imagine is if two pices of gear send NRPNs simultaneously, but no merger would sort out that situation.

| That's the point I'm thinking about! - I must expect this case because there are minimum 3 devices sending NRPNs. In theory it should be possible for the merger to reserve the output after sending a NRPN-relating controler for a short time something like 1ms (round about one Midi-Message) for the last source. - But do they? Is there anyone who has an idea for this? Thank you, regards Martin
