I am a computer geek, not a musician. I am working with a musician, that is not a computer geek. Hopefully between the two of us, we can get done what we are hoping for. My musician friend creates midi files on a computer using a program called Sibelius. What we are hoping for is on the same computer that creates the midi files, we would like to play them. I have installed the hauptwerk virtual organ. I have installed the midi-ox and the midi-yoke programs. Can I play the midi music on the virtual organ? How do I configure it and get it hooked up? Are there any directions or instructions on how to make this happen? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks. Stan Weeks

You can use the MIDI Player applet (MIDIBar) in MIDI-OX to play the MIDI files in hauptwerk virtual organ. To do this, choose MIDI Yoke 1 as Output in MIDI Bar (configure it using the port button on MIDI Bar). Choose MIDI Yoke 1 as Input to Hauptwerk. Alternatively, you could play MIDI files using Media Player. To configure this, open Control Panel | Sounds And Audio Devices Open the Audio Tab and choose MIDI Yoke 1 as your MIDI Music Playback default device. Choose MIDI Yoke 1 as Input to Hauptwerk.
