Windows 8.1 installation SUCCESS!

I have been a user of the MIDI Yoke NT driver set for a long five years now, I am impressed with it! I just want to take the time to write this here thread as a thank you, and also to note that I was successfully able to install the driver on a brand new 64 bit Windows 8.1 computer. Every computer I get, this is a MUST install. Thank you.

Wait, how did you do it? Huh I tried the automatic installer, but the driver didn't appear anywhere except in the control panel. I couldn't use the manual installer because the device manager didn't accept my attempted install.  
 
I'm currently asking you here because you are the only one who I saw with success in installing MIDI Yoke with Windows 8.1 64bit.

Well I since reinstalled windows on this machine, and I did reinstall the drivers. However, there must have been a hicup that time, because I had the same problem. This is what I did to get things working.
 
 

  • You will need to Disable UAC (User account Control)(The warning signs when a file needs to be run as administrator)
  • Right click the installer file
  • Click Properties
  • In the compatibility tab, Tick the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"
  • Select "Previous Versions of windows" in the list. then click Apply, then close the window.
  • Right click the file, select Run as administrator.
  • Reboot.

If you reboot and do not see your devices listed (Like I did [I forgot UAC was still enabled]), Run the installer again and select "Repair" from the options. Then reboot again, and you should be golden.
