I know this is a bit cheeky but.........

hi

My spec is below.

After recently installing an sw1000 into my stable system everything seemed fine.

However I've just discovered that whenever I play a note on a VSTi I get a godawful howl out of Cubase with the error "Cubase has caused an error in MROS416.dll"

Then it crashes.

Is this something to do with my MIDI set up ?

Also have 4 instances of Hubi's cable:

lb3----->sw1000#1
lb4------>sw1000#2
audiophile midiIn---->lb1 (from Kenton CF)
sw1000 midiIn----->lb2

I also have both sw1000 Midi In AND lb2 activated as midi inputs in Cubase.

The moderator @ cubase.net suggested I uninstall Hubi's and try MidiYoke.

Any advice appreciated

It's not immediately clear why the setup you describe would crash Cubase?

I'm not sure I understand?  You say that SW1000 is connected to both LB2 AND Cubase?  And also that LB2 is also connected to Cubase?  Wouldn't that cause echoed input?

What is the output from LB1 connected to?

Yep, that's what I have. Didn't hear any mechoed notes though.

Actually, I seem to have cured it (although I don't know why this has worked - perhaps you can enlighten me ?)

I checked the "Disable multiclient mode" option in the Audiophile 2496 control panel.

For some reason the 2496 did not like to be multiclient when all of these 3 soundcards were available to Cubase.

cheers
