i would like to use midiox as a "complete" com server for doing midi stuff. it seems i cannot open a port, i cound not find a method doint this? i can send midi messages to open ports. but how can i open a port? can i open a midiox instance so it is "hidden"? from a vbs file. basically, what i want to do is writing a vbs script which opens a port, sets an instrument, plays a few notes, and closes the port again? can i do that all from vbs?

Although you cannot open or close individual ports, you can address specific output ports. The solution is to have all output ports be open in MIDI-OX -- then you can address any particular port. If MIDI-OX is closed when it is Minimized in the tray, it will reopen minimized in the tray.
