I need a Filter Tip!

Hi, I'm having a hard time using the filter to filter out messages on specific channels. I do the following: - Check the messages I want to block (in my case, all messages on a specific channel). - Check the channels on which I want the messages blocked (in my case messages come in on Channels 1,3,5,7 and duplicates come in on Channels 2,4,6,8. I want to block all messages that come in on Ch 2,4,6,8 so they don't pass through MidiOx). I notice that this doesn't block the messages. I have to go through some strange sequence that I still don't quite understand (or remember). It's something like this. I have to check items as described above. Then, I think I have to uncheck the messages I want to block (but leave the channels I want blocked checked). Then I think the messages get blocked correctly. Am I doing something strange, or is MidiOx? I think this is a fairly accurate representation of what's happening, maybe I have to do something a bit more intricate, can't quite remember. Have you had the same experience? Gabriel

Without any of the check boxes checked, the filter prevents display of events only: the events are still passed through the system. To filter the actual data, check any channels and/or events you want filtered and then also check [x] Filter out Data as well as display.
