Woohoo! I picked up a Doepfer Pocket Control the other day to provide 16 MIDI control knobs to my otherwise spartan Ensoniq SQ-1. All was well; I loaded up the free preset manager utility that came with the Pocket Control and expected within minutes to be happily playing some synths in Sonar while farting around with the controll knobs. Oh oh! What the...my Ego-Sys Miditerminal 4140 MIDI interface doesn't have multi-client drivers?! So much for my dream of switching easily between the preset manager and Sonar; I figured my only recourse was to use the annoying dip switches on the back of the PocketC, or close Sonar every time I wanted to change knob presets... Then came this program! It's taken me the better part of a day to realize that the 8 Yoke ports really correspond to a maximum of 4 ins and 4 outs once you successfully map everything together. But now that I've passed that hurdle I now have all 4 MIDI ports mapped to 4 virtual multi-client in/out ports under XP. Life is good! And stable, too. I love this app. I almost purchased MIDIOverLAN+ but it was so crash-prone with my system I had to uninstall it. Kudos for writing MIDI-OX. -Doug
