How to setup Total Recall for Live Setup

Hi there ! For our live (cover) band, I would like to automate the setup for the various MIDI gear and VSTi's. Even though I'm not new to MIDI and I also read the help of MIDI-OX, I would like to ask for some assistance to pick the right approach. The basic requirement is: a program change from a suitable device (footcontroller, small MIDI keyboard like OXYGEN or similar) should - switch programs for all conventional MIDI gear, like rack synths (easy) - switch programs for VSTis (in Cubase SX and V-Stack) (propably also easy enough, at least with the hint I found in here, using multiple virtual ports with MIDI-OX) desirable would be: - dynamic loading of VSTi (instead of having the whole armada of instruments and plug-ins permanently loaded, I would be nice to load them on demand, so ideally a Cubase project file could be loaded. And as a side questions to the fellow Cubase users... can the loading time be reduced, eg. by using a virtual disk, ie. loading the file structure into memory ?) top notch would be (even though it has nothing to do with MIDI): - displaying lyrics and/or lead sheet on a computer. Is there a way to achieve that ? Or am I too ambitious ? Too early ? Thanks a lot in advance RKW

I don't think that MIDI-OX can help you with any of the Cubase tasks, so I am hoping someone else can jump in here.

Hi Jamie ! Thanks so far. I somehow expected that the answer would be no... So I convert my question in a suggestion. I would be great if MIDI-OX could submit a command line to the operating system on the basis of program change. Eg. if there would be a virtual MIDI port "Operating System" and in the program mapping table one could specify a command line, eg. "run program parameter1 parameter2" or some OLE commands. What do you think ? Thanks and best regards RiKW
