The memory could not be "read"

I have:
Win 2K Pro
Yamaha SW1000XG
XG-Works v3.0
XG-Gold and Midi-OX 6.5.0.340
I have set XG-Works to Midi out to NT1 and XG-Gold likewise to Midi Out NT1. Midi-OX is Midi In NT1 and Midi out SW1000 Synth #1. When I play a Midi file from XG-Works, Midi-OX displays the Midi events OK and then falls over with "The instruction 0x.... referenced memory at 0x.... The memory could not be read. Click OK to terminate etc. I have checked that I do not have a rogue copy of myokent.dll lying around.

This is driving me nuts. I am new to this Midi stuff and am bald enough without tearing out any more hair  Sad

Anyone any ideas?

The 1st thing you might try is the new version of MIDI-OX (6.5.1.346).  If you continue to experience this, I would be very interested in getting more information about the crash.  A Dr. Watson log would be ideal, but barring that, maybe you could capture a screenshot of the error dialog.

Ikke,

go to http://www.xgfactory.com/html/down/down_f.htm and look for the Win NT versions. Alternatively you can buy the latest version for Win NT and 2K/XP from the Yamaha online shop. It is worth the price and makes a very good sequencer with more than just the basic functionality.

i will find another way than.. it s just, i want to use the program to swirch between mic in and line in.
If i record my skratches, the sound is distored and very noisy.
Is there a way to change the mic in to line in? Apart from the XGedit, cause that does not work!

Thanks a lot

Ikke,
Go to the XGFactory download URL I posted and you will find a FlashROM download that will default the SW1000XG to Line Level not MIC level. If you need to switch between them, on the fly, then you will need to us XGEdit or similar. The site also has quite a good FAQ which deals with this in a couple of questions.
