Load midi file delay in WinXP

Hi!
Many Thanks to MidiOX for a great software.

Any program based on calls to "WINMM.DLL", & MCI32.OCX,causes a delay of 3 to 4 seconds to load an average Midi File, in WinXP.
That includes MidiOX Midi Player.

(In Win98 this happens amost instantly)

Is there a way to reduce the loading time?

Thank you.
Gaston.

I think it's a different System MIDI Sequencer in Win 2K / XP.  I don't know of anyway to reduce it, other than to preload it before you want to start playback.

Thats what I was afraid of.
Because parsing a Midi File just to play it, is a bit much.

Making calls to the Windows Media Player's DLL , does play Midi Files instantly (after the 1st one).

Thank you for your help
Best Regards.
Gaston.

I have MIDI Bar load on start up to the tray - I've not checked at all, but would this preload the problematic DLL?  Is that an option for you?
