Hello all i i'm new here so little presentation before the question : So, i'm french, making tekno (for 4/5 years) under fruityloops studio 4.1.2 on Windows 2000 pro SP4. I'm using 1 controller/1master keyboard from evolution (UC-16 and MK225-C). My sound card is a M-Audio Quattro. The UC-16 is plugged in MIDI-IN off the audio card and the MK225-C is in usb. The problem is : I select both controllers as inputs in midiox and midiyoke 1 as Output. the monitor indicate that everithing is ok (out / in action generate led blink). Under FLstudio, i select midi yoke 1 as controller and nothink append. If y try by selecting one of my controllers without using midiox/midiyoke, everithing ok. but if i trty using midiox/midiyoke, no signal is retrieve.... All version are the last, it as worked fine for a long time and sudenly stop to work.... I have reinstall all softwares (Midiox/midiyoke/flstudio) with no change... please help !

As an experiment try substituting another instance of MIDI-OX for FL and see if the data comes in from MIDI Yoke 1: [controller]->[MIDI-OX 1]->[MY1]->[MIDI-OX 2] If data comes in to [MIDI-OX 2] then you can be sure MIDI Yoke and MIDI-OX are working, and there must be something to configure in FL. If data does NOT come in to [MIDI-OX 2], then look for some kind of filtering or mapping in [MIDI-OX 1] that is preventing the transmission.

If Jamie's post doesn't help, here's the boring first-pass step-wise debug to remove the "oops!" factor : In MIDI OX, under Options->MIDI Devices: 1) in "MIDI Inputs", you have selected the MK225C USB port and the UC16 MIDI port. 2) in "MIDI Outputs", you have selected "MIDI Yoke NT: 1". 3) in "Port Map Objects", the two selected inputs are listed along with a few other MIDI OX supplied bits (The next one is the important one! ) 4) in "Port Mapping", "MIDI Yoke NT: 1" has a little "+" next to it. If you click the "+", you see the two selected inputs (along with "MIDI-OX Events", perhaps).

| I hope you actually mean that MIDI-OX 2 receives the output of MIDI Yoke 1? I said nothing about using another MIDI Yoke port.

ytek: I don't think you have to re-install your computer. You need to find out why FL can not accept input from the MIDI Yoke port.

Hello, I'm new here and love this product! I have FruityLoops 4.1.0 and MidiOx is working fine so far. I know the members posting questions here are using actual keyboards or equiptment that connects directly to their computer's ports, however, I hope I can be of some help even though I'm connecting software to software via MidiOx and MidiYoke. 1. First, I opened the outgoing software program. I guess this would be the keyboard in other member's case. I've never connected a keyboard to my computer, but would assume this is via the game/midi port. I assume you must also go to your general audio system properties and choose a sound driver that would recieve data from the keyboard via the game/midi port. On my system, I have Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth selected as a midi playback driver. 2. On the outgoing software program I have MidiYoke NT 2 selected as a playback (output) driver. 3. Then open MidiOx, go to midi devices, and in the input section I have chosen MidiYoke NT 2. 4. On the bottom section (MidiOx output) I have chosen MidiYoke NT 1 as the output driver. 5. Not sure if these other options I have checked in the Options menu in MidiOx make a difference, but I have "Midi Filter", and "Pass SysEx" checked. 6. Open FruityLoops and go to Midi Settings in Options menu. I chose the following settings: -Output Port Mapping: Microsoft Midi Mapper (Port 0) -Master Synch Output: Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth -Remote Control Input: MidiYoke NT 1, and Controller Type: Generic Controller, also I checked: Auto Accept Controller. -In Options Menu I checked: Enable Midi Remote Control, and Enable Midi Output. 7. Finally, I open the piano roll, select wich channel to record onto and what instrument patch. Then, I simply press the record button, then I press the play button. At this point you will see the little orange triangle time/place cursor in the piano roll start to move and you'll hear nothing until you either press play on the first, outgoing program or when you press a key on your external keyboard or typing keyboard. I guess for typing keyboards in general, you must have the "typing keyboard to piano keyboard" option checked in Fruityloops. Not sure if this option must also be checked if using an external keyboard. 8. In Fruityloops you should see the Midi light indicator on, and the piano roll keys being pressed, when the transferring of data is finished press stop and disable recording mode in Fruityloops and you should see the recorded pattern in the piano roll appear. Note: I didn't have to select the Midi Out preset in Fruityloops in the piano roll in order to record. I can use any patch or even a sampler and data will still be recieved. I suggest you try opening the Midi Out preset as your recording channel in piano roll, if it still doesn't work with another non-midi channel. If you're going to do this, make sure the Midi Out channel is selected in the step sequencer, and make sure in the channel settings, Port 0 is chosen, if following the step by step I typed above. In that same window, choose desired Midi Instrument patch and where it says Channel, choose any channel (keeping in mind that channel 10 is usually reserved for drums/percussion). I am so new to this, that I'm not even sure if I'm answering anyone's question at all, LOL! Or if I'm giving extremely basic and laughable advice to experts. But, oh well, we all begin as novices, I can only grow from here, hehe. But sounded similar to what I went through when I first tried this program out with FruityLoops, so whether I helped or not, here's my newbie five cents worth...at all costs, Hehe. Also, if there's an easier way to do this mapping in my case, or if I'm doing something wrong (or dumb, LOL!), please let me know. I won't be offended, as long as it's constructive, helpful critisizm. I know there are a million ways you could mao using MidiOx and MidiYoke, so any help/corrections would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, take care.
