Behringer VAMP 2 Midi

My son has a Berhinger VAMP 2 device that has a MIDI OUT and In on the device. I have used a keyboard for MIDI input into Band-in-The-Box, but not a guitar device. Is that VAMP 2 capable of sending data out of it's MIDI Output to the software on the computer? He's got a USB Midi conntecor, and we tested it with a keyboard, so the cables and the USB are working. I have seen where some of these Behringer devices cannot send MIDI Data when the user is playing, maybe I'm under wrong impression of what the device is suppose to do. He was trying to play his guiter and have it recorded with a Band-in-the-Box track, but nothing is ever recorded, as if no input from the guitar. I've probably said enough without confusing the issue. Any takers out there to give me some insight? The manual doesn't help! TIA

According to this website: - MIDI interface enables realtime remote control, automation, data transfer, and access to additional parameters
So, I'd guess that you can dump the settings to a computer and upload them, or us a sequencer to control them, or use a MIDI pedal board, etc. Not for transferring audio. Over on http://www.v-amp.com/ I see there's some software to let you design amp models.

I'm sorry, I guess I didn't ask the right question. Let me try again! The guitar is plugged into the VAMP 2 device, he's got a midi cable from the OUT port of the VAMP 2 going through a USB Midi device into his computer, but Band in the Box is not recording any sounds he plays along with the jams, so, the output from his guitar is not making it into the software. Is that because the VAMP 2 is just a controller to import or export some type of midi settings? Lost

Yes. The MIDI interface on the VAMP is soley for transferring settings, not MIDI Note or performance data. To record the instrument itself you would need an audio sequencer/recorder. Example: Cakewalk Music Creator
