Hi,
On the Yahoo Casio CZ/VZ group, some of us haven't been able to get midi-ox to send sysex patches to the VZ instruments.  Anybody know what settings to use ?

Most of us don't have a real VZ manual, but there are some docs and info from the users.
The VZ-10m is the rack version of the VZ-1, and Hohner has a version of it, too.

I got Sonar 3 to do it after putting a line for packet size 64 in the TTSSEQ.INI file, as suggested in Sonar's help file.

Thanks,
Pete

I got Midi-Ox to transfer Sysex patch files to the casio VZ-10m with setting the buffers to 2 of 128 bytes.  Smaller ones, 2 buffers of 64 bytes and 32 bytes also worked.

I had some "midi buffer full" errors from the VZ, and found they'd go away if I restarted Midi Ox before re-submitting the file.  I should have tried that in the first place.  Undecided

2 Buffers is very few.  I would recommend 8 to 16 buffers, but insert 60 millisecond delays after F7 in the SysEx configure dialog.

Okay, thanks.  Somebody else said theirs worked alright with the default settings, 16 of 256.  Mine gets errors from the synth if I use those, but the smaller sizes it works fine.  it's a good app!

The above mentioned 60 - 120 millisecond DELAY is the important part.
