HD transfer problem

Hello, As my hard drive was about to give up, I quickly installed a new one and transfered all my stuff, including my MIDIOX installation and custom settings folder. Much to my disappointing surprise, all my preset for my MIDI device connections are gone, or at least the program can't find them. Everytime, the list is empty Where are those preset saved ? Are they link to the registry ( I would not think so but...) ? I've I done something wrong while copying my folders ? I still have access to the old HD if necessary. I'd hate to have to do all that work again (specially since my brain always seems to forget the basics ) , but if there is nothing to be done ....Live and learn I guess Thanks for any help you can provide. The 12 string man

Yes, all the presets and other settings are stored in the registry. Although you can transfer most settings by saving a profile, you'll have to export the following registry key (and then import) to get the presets: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MIDI-OX\MIDI-OX 32\DevicePresets

Hi, Would using Norton Ghost be an answer for you. This program copies your original HD partition in its entirety to your new HD with nothing missing. Your PC sees the new HD as it would the old one with nothing changed. It's easy to use and saves hours of reconfiguring. Kind regards Phillip

HI , I'm using Norton Ghost now, , but as I knew my system was going to change, I was just figuring out some stuff on the old HD, and I ended up working with it and forgot to basic...I guess I like doing stuff the old fashion way: make a boo boo and learn
