keynote.ini, A and 1 keys don't work

Hello.  Is there a reason why after mapping A=x and 1=x in keynote.ini that they don't work?  All the other keys seem to work fine.  Are these keys reserved for another purpose?

I'm trying to set up alternate keynote.ini files for various keyboard layouts such as a chromatic, and accordion layouts.

Here is my example of a chromatic layout:

[KeyMap]
Z=0
X=1
C=2
V=3
B=4
N=5
M=6
COMMA=7
DOT=8
SLASH=9

A=12
S=13
D=14
F=15
G=16
H=17
J=18
K=19
L=20
SEMI=21
QUOTE=22

Q=24
W=25
E=26
R=27
T=28
Y=29
U=30
I=31
O=32
P=33
LBKT=34
RBKT=35

1=36
2=37
3=38
4=39
5=40
6=41
7=42
8=43
9=44
0=45
MINUS=46
EQ=47

Thanks,

Only the keys listed in the Help File are supported.  They are:

[KeyMap]
Z=0
S=1
X=2
D=3
C=4
V=5
G=6
B=7
H=8
N=9
J=10
M=11
COMMA=12 ;   ","
Q=12
2=13
L=13
DOT=14 ;   "." Period
W=14
3=15
SEMI=15 ;   ";"
SLASH=16 ;   "/"
E=16
R=17
5=18
T=19
6=20
Y=21
7=22
U=23
I=24
9=25
O=26  ;   'Oh
0=27  ;    Zero
P=28
LBKT=29 ;    "["  Left Bracket
EQ=30  ;   "=" Equal
RBKT=31 ;   "]" Right Bracket
F=-1 ;   Unused
K=-1 ;   Unused
4=-1 ;   Unused
8=-1 ;   Unused
MINUS=-1  ;   "-"  Unused
QUOTE=-1 ;   "'" Single quote - Unused

You can generate a template containing available keys by renaming or deleting your KeyNote.INI file and then running MIDI-OX: a new KeyNote.INI will be generated.  You can use any of the keys identified as 'unused' or set to -1, but you can't add keys that aren't listed.
