keyboards sends system reset

Hi Everybody! I connected my old casio ctk-531 to my great ( ) c-media cmi8738 soundcard and encountered some strange problems. the input monitor tells me my keyboard is sending system resets evertime i hit a key. using the keyboard as midi output works fine. what could be wrong?

System Reset (FF) is not a good value for the MIDI interface to be providing. Unfortunately, game port MIDI Interfaces on motherboard sound cards are often very crappy. Many times they do not even provide a MIDI Input: only Output. Try to get a different MIDI Interface if the keyboard seems OK.

Thanks for your reply. It's the second soundcard I tried, the first one was a Terratec 128i pci, which didn't work at all. So I guess it must be the keyboard that has some problems it hasn't been used for 2 years, but back at that time it worked fine with a soundblaster. Need to get a new one then
