Can you start automatically in 'Keyboard' mode?

I would like to be able to have midi-ox start in 'keyboard' mode. Is there any way to configure this?
 
I have a 'headless' laptop (no screen) which I want to start up running a virtual instrument and be able to control it with the keyboard. This all works fine once keyboard mode has been seleced in midi-ox. It's just that selecting keboard mode is impossible without a screen on the laptop. I've tried sending keystrokes from a Visual Basic application directly to midi-ox's menus, but this doesn't work.
 
Any advice would be gratefully received.
