I'M USING A YAMAHA UX16 USB INTERFACE WITH MIDIOX. I WAS ABLE TO LOAD THE SYSEX KORG FACTORY SOUNDS ZIP FILE BY USING THESE SETTINGS: BUFFERS=60 BYTES(BOTH) DELAY=60 BUFFER NUM=26(BOTH) DELAY AFTER F7=20 I HAD TO DOWNLOAD THE LATEST DRIVER FOR MY UX16 FROM THE YAMAHA SITE TO MAKE IT HAPPEN SUCCESSFULLY. I COULD NOT GET THE M1R TO ACCEPT THE TRANSFER UNTIL I DOWNLOADED THE NEW DRIVER FOR THE USB INTERFACE. IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS SHOOT ME AN E-MAIL

Hi, I just got an M1R and although the battery is good there was a spare new battery sent with the unit so I am going to change it. Where do I find the factory sounds file to reload into the M1R when I do the battery change? I was going to try a dump to a Sysex file to back it up before I did this but not sure whether this will indeed work. If you need to email the file, its acerimmer4@yahoo.com Thanks very much for your help

Hi These Lithium batteries last years (4 or 5 at least) as they have very little work to do keeping the memory alive. I'm not sure I would change it. By all means open it up and make sure the battery hasn't leaked on to the printed circuit board. I would dump what's there anyway as may contain the sounds of some genius. Typing "M1R Factory Patches" into Google produces lots of page and the first looks like a good place to start. http://patcharena.com/tag/korg-m1-original-factory-sounds/ One final thing, it's not a good idea to give your email address on an open forum like this as the bots will find it and the spam will start rolling in. Try adding words or spaces or both to make it at least a little less obvious acerimmer4ATyahooDOTcom acerimmer4 at yahoo full stop com acerimmer4 over at yahoo period com We will know what you mean, but the bots may not. All the best Royce
