Velocity help on drums

I've been using an Alesis DM Lite drumset. It is connected to the computer, usb wise. The Midi Ox software would detect the drums and the output cable (Usb to midi) plugged into the Rock Band 3 pro adapter.

For some reason when I play on Rock a Band 3, the cymbals would sometimes get the notes when I hit them on time, then other times it wouldn't get the notes. I'm wondering if there is a way to adjust the velocity/sensitivity settings to help make the drums calibrate better?

I had a look at the user guide and I couldn't find any adjustments, but you might be able to get MidiOx to help.

When you look at the Monitor Input window in MidiOx do you see the notes but with a low velocity (the 3rd number in the line)?
You may see a 0 in the velocity - this means note off - so it will be the line above that I am talking about.

You can boost just those notes by using a data map.

Option / Data Mapping...
If there is anything already there press clear.
Press Insert and enter the following

When Input matches
Any Channel : Event Type = Note On : -1 : -1 : Velocity Min = 1 : Max 40  (if this is too high or too low you can change it)
 Set Output to
Match Input : Match Input : -1 : -1 : Velocity Min = 20 : Max = 80  (you can play around with these numbers too).

This will effect all pads.

If you want just the cymbals to be effected you need to change the -1's in the Note# fields.
If Cymbal 1 uses Note 43 then change the input line
When Input matches
Any Channel : Event Type = Note On : 43 : 43 : Velocity Min = 1 : Max 40  (if this is too high or too low you can change it)

If Cymbal 2 uses Note 46, create a second line by pressing the Insert button again and copy what  you had before except...
When Input matches
Any Channel : Event Type = Note On : 46 : 46 : Velocity Min = 1 : Max 40  (if this is too high or too low you can change it)

With the same (or different if you want to have a different range for each cymbal) 'Set Output to'

Press OK and on the previous dialog click Turn Map On.
Press OK

Now when you hit a pad softly it should be louder.

I hope that helps
