I am a Brazilian boy of 70 years old and like to play with my Yamaha PSR-SQ16. Now I bought the QY100 Yamaha too. I would like to use with the QY100 Midiox. I ask: Can I use Midiox to transfer Styles for SmartMedia card? How to make it

Thank you very much Breath ... I already have Data Filer and the QY100 manual, anyway thank you for your indication of the link. Breath my biggest problem no longer communicating with the QY100 PSR SQ16 but communication between my notebook and QY100. I am using the connection between them by MIDI cable that is working perfectly. However I can not transmit the sysex Notebook for QY100. I've already set the QY100 to Bulk Dump.O strange is that the module only sends to the Notebook and will not appear on the word getting QY100. The midi data cable monitoring are sent to the QY100 but do not enter. I have searched a lot but so far no results. I have several Styles to enter the QY100 but I can not.

OK , lets start with a common problem that happens with MidiOx before we start looking at he QY100. I'll go through all the steps to make sure you have them all. Options / Midi devices make sure you have your interface that is connected to the QY100 hi-lighted. Then you need to go to the MIDI Port Routing window (View / Port Routings...) and drag the bottom left Midi socket icon called MIDI-OX Event Port to the right side over your midi interface port that is connected to the QY100 so MidiOx draws a connection line. Options / Pass Sysex menu selection should be ticked. There is a bug in the MidiOx code that if MidiOx starts with this option ticked then you need to un-tick it then tick it again for sysex to pass. Next View / Sysex... to bring up the sysex dialog. File / Send Sysex File... (on the sysex dialog you just brought up) and select your file to download. You should see the Sysex display in the MidiOx Monitor Output window. Now if you see all that and it still isn't working.... on the cable that goes to the QY100, disconnect the QY100 MidiInput and connect that plug to the Midi Input on your interface. You are trying to get the Midi to loop back. Now send the sysex again and the Sysex should go out your Midi interface and then back in the Midi interface then back to MidiOx to be displayed on the Monitor - Input window. If you don't see this there is likely to be a problem in the Midi cable or the interface. Normally if that all works then it is likely that your QY100 is set up incorrectly. Page 247 of the manual shows the (UTILITY) MIDI page. Go there and make sure the Filter is set to Off. Try sending the sysex again. If you still have problems let me know and I will show you how to slow down the Midi coming from MidiOx which might help. All the best Royce

Ok Breath ... I did everything as instructed. I ask, how can I check the QY100 if the file arrived. I am still very layman to work with QY100. When I sent the file sysex I selected the QY100 Bulk Dump- ALL. The Sysex file I sent was a Style. Yet another question, this file enters the internal SY100 or go to the SmartMedia? Selecting this parameter in QY100.

Breath...I did other tests and found that the Midiox monitor data is being sent that black screen. Also did a test to see if really the midiair cable was sending data. I tested as follows. I connected the notebook to the PSR SQ16 and worked perfectly in a midi file on the Notebook Cakewalk. Thus I could prove that there is no problem with the MIDI cable. The only thing that makes me very puzzled is how I set the QY100 to what I see on his monitor the data coming in. In the Bulk Dump just I found the option to send the QY data to the Notebook. In Manual on page 276 the following sentence appears: "Receiving ... When receiving MIDI bulk data, this message will appear." I conclude that this word "Receiving" is displayed on the monitor QY when I send sysex Notebook for him.
