Possible to capture raw MIDI data?

A particular synth requires B0 57 7F bytes before each sysex to load a single preset into its RAM. This CC 57 selects Record Mode, which is then disabled after the preset's sysex is received. Some new firmware for this synth inserts these three bytes before each preset's sysex, and dumps 95 of these sets in one operation. If I used "Receive Manual Dump" in the sysex window of MIDI OX, it strips out the B0 57 7F, since that is not "sysex" but is "CC". I need a way to record everything, then save it to a file. Can MIDI OX do this? Thanks

Hi I am curious to know what synth does this? Unfortunately I can't find a way for MidiOx to do what you want without writing a script. You can do it manually by taking the saved sysex and loading it into the sysex text area. You can then type in the CC message and when you right click Send Sysex both the CC and sysex will be sent. Most DAWs will allow you to record sysex mixed with non sysex message. There are a few free ones about that should do the job. All the best Royce Craven

Oops! I removed too many messages. Sorry rlg42 Too much spam - too little time While I'm here, thanks Paul for the info. This is one of Mark's Midi Tools I haven't used. I use his Sysex Message tool a lot for probing the sysex in hardware synths. I too highly recommend this free set of Midi tools. All the best Royce
