Hi, I have USB MIDI and am trying to use it to send MSC commands to a lighting desk (Jester TLXtra if it matters), and think i know what command i need to send (F0 7F 01 02 01 01 F7) My question is firstly how do i tell MIDI-OX to send a command like this and secondly do i need the spaces between each hex value? I have looked all around the software and cannot figure out how to send the MSC messages so any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance
Lewis

Hi Lewis,
MSC - Midi Show Control

F0 7F Universal Real Time head
01 device Id
02 MSC sub
01 Lighting command type
01 GO
F7 End sysex

Looks right.
To send it you need to set up some connections first.
In the Midi Port Routing window (View / Port Routings...) drag from MidiOx Event Port to the pic of the Midi plug on the right that is the Midi port connected to the desk.
You need to enable Sysex transmission through this new connection so you can either click the 'SYX' button in the lower right boarder or Options / Pass Sysex...
Even if the SYX is highlighted, you need to de-select then re-select as you have made a routing change.

Open the sysex dialog  View / Sysex...
In the Command window type F0 7F 01 02 01 01 F7.
You can use spaces (or not),  commas instead are also ok. That's as far as I have bothered with.
I prefer spaces to make it easier to read. Plus that's the form it will be in on the Monitor windows .

Click menu option Command Window / Send Sysex
You should see the Sysex string in the Output Monitor and the Desk should react.

Hope that helps
Royce
