Newbie getting error of "not enough memory"

First off, I checked the message boards as others have gotten the error of "There is not enough memory available for this task. Quit one or more applications to increase available memory, and then try again" -- however the conditions and solutions do not seem applicable to my situation. I appreciate your patience on this as I am just starting out. I purchased a Casio PX-370 several years ago and have been playing it to my heart's content. Recently been using Musescore and so decided to see if I could hook up my Casio to my Acer Notebook running Windows 10. I hooked it up with USB cable and can see an entry for the Casio USB Midi in Device Manager in the "Sound, video and Game Controllers". So far so good. I open up Musescore but no input from the Casio Keyboard. So I google this topic and come across MIDI-OX which I install. After installation, I go into options and select the Casio Midi as input and output, however, the selection of the input gives me the "There is not enough memory available for this task. Quit one or more applications to increase available memory, and then try again" I close all apps but MIDI-OX and still get error. I google and then go through the message board here. I try lowering the buffers from 256 to 64 with only 2 buffers for each output and input. I reboot, connecting and disconnecting the USB connector, turning on and off the Keyboard and rebooting the PC several times. I have 4MB of memory of which, per task manager, less than 1 MB is being used. I am not using the MIDI USB for anything else and had just plugged in the keyboard today. I tried updating the driver, but Windows 10 tells me this is the best driver. I looked at the Casio support pages and no special driver is required. Normally one just plugs in the Casio keyboard to the PC via the USB connector and all is well. I am at a dead end, so reaching out for any help that can be provided.

This error generally occurs when a single client MIDI device driver is in use by another application. I have heard that un-plugging and re-plugging the USB MIDI device can sometimes fix this error, but a single client driver is bound to give you pains.

| Jamie, Thanks! Yes, I have read this about more than one app using the driver but don't see or understand how that would apply to my scenario. I did a lot of unplugging and plugging back in, turning on and off, etc. I have read about midiyoke, but that seemed like applicable to using multiple apps so didn't go that route. Seems like my use of the Casio keyboard is standard use. I can try using midiyoke, if that is the only option.

| Jamie, turns out there was another application connected to the midi that I was not aware of. Found it, closed it, and all is okay! Thanks!!! Problem solved!
