Title: Alternatives to using scripts? Post by ml on Nov 16th, 2004, 8:41am HI, I am new here and I love this software (and website). I have been using midiOX for few months, especially for its superb mapping possibilities. I use it to trigger many midi devices in realtime - that is: to play many different synths from only one keyboard (and foot pedals). However, mapping is not enough for me and I want to add some AND, OR, XOR operations and possibly IF, FOR, WHILE sentences... I guess, I need to use scripts to do that.. right? ??? I searched the web for easier alternatives and found this software: http://vmm.audionetwork.be/ It is called Virtual Midi machine and it offers MIDI processing capabilities, and it seems a bit easier than using scripts. Could i use this proggy in conjunction with midi OX to accomplish my tasks, or will it be easier (more elegant) with scripts? ..and which script language would you suggest? i thought about jscript, since it seems widely used. Any comments are welcome! ml |

Title: Re: Alternatives to using scripts? Post by monkeyboi on Mar 13th, 2010, 6:37am VMM does allow you to specify which MIDI Yoke virtual ports to send and receive messages on. Dunno if this answers your question. Also, I prefer JScript over VBScript because it more closely resembles C++ and Java, so it should be easier to learn for most programmers. |
