Title: Hi could somebody help please?
Post by ruffj05 on May 27th, 2005, 6:16am
hey guys whatsup, im new here and i downloaded and installed the midiox thing, and if this is the wrong topic to post this in, please move it or whatever is neccisary (sp?). aright, im using a program called Traktor DJ Studio" which is software (not hardware), which accepts midi controller data, so that if you have an midi controller, you can scratch the turntables, move the crossfader, etc. and I have a usb controller connected, called DM2 (by mixman -- www.mixman.com), and i also have a program called DM2toMIDI (http://www.pdoom.ch/dm2/) that allows me to use the usb controller as an MIDI controller, and what im doing (or attempting to do lol), which they said was easy to accomplish, is use the Dm2 as an MIDI controller to scratch the turntables and move the crossfader etc on the Traktor DJ studio. what the PDF file that the thing at the site (http://www.synth.biz/dm2/) mentioned was that you need a virtual MIDI router such as the midiox to use the dm2 to midi with the traktor dj studio. so i downloaded the  Win NT/2000/XP version (since i have XP pro) and all, and installed it using the xp home instructions, then i restarted as i shouldve, the problem is, the midiox doesnt appear on the traktor dj studio nor the Dm2 to MIDI's drop down list as it should. yet it does appear in device manager. when i check the properties in device manager, it says that its not working as it should. thats pretty much it with this problem, let me know if i should give you anymore details or anything to help, or if you can help at all, i appreciate your concern

This will become clearer when you realize that there was some slight mis-information in the advice.  MIDI-OX is NOT a virtual MIDI Router, but we do have a virtual MIDI Router called MIDI Yoke.  Get it here: http://www.midiox.com/myoke.htm
