Title: changing midi cc to output on multiple channels
Post by cameronbudge on May 31st, 2004, 9:49pm
Hi,

I have 3 virtual synths each on a different midi channel these are controlled by an evolution 461c. I also have a dx7 that also controls them, the routing my dx7 is set up differently so the controllers only work with local dx keyboard. The controllers on the evolution affect the software synths. I am trying to set up a map so that say if i am playing on midi ch 4 the sustain, mod, pitch bend are output on midi ch 4,5,6.
If i set it up so that for eg the the modulation is mapped it works (outputs on 3 channels) but when i play on ch 4 i get 2 lots of data for the modulation  (probably cause it is cloned). If i turn off the clone, only the top map seems to work. Do you see another solution to what i am trying to do??

* ctrl 1 1 * * clone 4 * * * * *
* ctrl 1 1 * * clone 5 * * * * *
* ctrl 1 1 * * clone 6 * * * * *

Regards,
Cameron

If you clone controllers you will get lots of data because you are creating copies of the events on other channels.  This is normal.  Instead of what you had you might consider:

4 ctrl 1 1 * * clone 5 * * * * *
4 ctrl 1 1 * * clone 6 * * * * *

These 2 lines will send output on channels 4,5 and 6.
