Title: Button Inc + Multi redirect + Looping
Post by mais on Mar 11th, 2005, 3:49am
hi :)

sorry if these topics are found under other posts, but right
now im in india on a really slow connection, and i just dont
have the opportunity to browse the whole forum :)
I have run into a few things that i hope can be solved
somehow, as it would make my studio easier to work in.

1. Is it possible to assign an incomeing cc-value an increase
status? ex: im mapping my button sending 0 and 127 (min max) on cc 17, to controll the waveform of a softsynth cc 40.

2. Is it possible to make one assignment to two or more
different cc values on the same virtual midi port?
ex: i want my knob sending cc 8 to control both cuttoff and
resonanse on 74 and 71.

3. I tried a workaround to fix nr.2 above. that is:
i send cc 8 to virtualport 4, with a mapping to 74.
then on incomeing virtual port 4 i put up a filter
that discards all except 74, which it sendt to 4 again
with a mapping to 71. it kind of works, but it takes
very long time..

thanx again for any help on these issues. i will check
the forum again in a week or so.

warm greets from hot india

alf :)

1.  No (as far as I know).  Not without scripting.  Mappings don't have access to anything but the event being mapped: they can't access the most recent value of some other event.

2.  Mmm, I thought the answer to this was "yes" but I can't find the "and pass through" option I thought existed on mapping lines...  I'm sure an older version had it...

2) You can clone the event and then remap it.  So CC8 gets mapped into 74, cloned and then mapped into 71.

::) Oh yes - exactly where I remembered it.  No idea why I couldn't see it yesterday.  I'll blame not feeling 100%...
