You can map the events "Start", "Cont", "Stop" and "SPP" ("Song Position Pointer").  They're listed under the input event box.

The MMC spec.  is 4 times as long as the MIDI Spec.  and was only ever implemented on a handful of devices.  Unfortunately, we can't spend a lot of time on something unless it will benefit most of the community.

How funny - I have been wrestling with this issue today and then come here as my first visit and see the question on top....

I do not think any direct implementation of MMC would be needed... just the ability to parse a match of a sysex string and generate a CC message in response

I feel this feature would be useful for many different things.
The length of the sysex string could be limited to some number of bytes (20 or so?) to keep matching process reasonable

It would just be the inverse of mapping a CC event into a sysex string...

BTW - as this is my first post please accept my sincere thanks for a GREAT tool that has helped me many times!!!!

Your request is noted.  It might be feasible if we could place some kind of (small) arbitrary limit on SysEx messages to Map (16 bytes, 32 bytes?).

Thanks for the response guys

good idea bear
i feel that feature would be a great addition to Midiox

i needed it because i bought a Akai MPD24 the other day, and the transport control buttons were fixed to MMC commands, but i've returned it now, apart from having good pads, knobs, sliders and a brilliant build, the functions/features were terrible compared to competition (or standards) , but if Akai could update (firmware/OS) it and add some basic functions/features making it as assignable and flexible as the competition i'd get it again in a heart beat

anyway keep up the good work Jamie O'Connell and Jerry Jorgenrud
