if this is a ridiculously easy new user question: apologies.

I created the following data map:

MOXMAP Version 5

*,NoteOn,59,59,*,*,N,0,*,NoteOn,62,62,*,*

*,NoteOn,60,60,*,*,N,0,*,NoteOn,64,64,*,*
*,NoteOff,60,60,*,*,N,0,*,NoteOff,64,64,*,*
*,NoteOn,61,61,*,*,N,0,*,NoteOn,65,65,*,*
*,NoteOff,61,61,*,*,N,0,*,NoteOff,65,65,*,*

WaitForFullNRPN=0

I used the patch map facility and assigned the above data map to patch number one

I created the following data map:

MOXMAP Version 5

[Map]
*,NoteOn,56,56,*,*,N,0,*,ProgChg,1,1,*,*

[Options]
WaitForFullNRPN=0
MapNRPNDataIncr=0
SendFullNRPN=0
ReverseDataEntry=0

Might anyone know why when I press the number 56 key it does not trigger on the above data map?

I believe I can create custom data maps and assign them to certain program change numbers and then trigger the data maps by creating other data maps that can trigger them

Might anyone know if there is an easy way to trigger a data map on and off? Or cycle through a series of data maps?

I would like to be able to be able to remap five different keys and hit a sixth key that could toggle through some different octaves or toggle through other data maps

Jamie or Jerry might have a better answer but I'd guess it's because the Data Mapping is happening after the point where the patch mapping would get picked up - you're sending out a Program Change but the Patch Mapping is only triggered if MIDI OX receives a program change.

You could try (very carefully) constructing a loop back into MIDI OX just for the program change messages.

I am still trying to trigger with a program change signal a change invoking a custom data map. I have assigned custom data maps for program change in numbers 0,1,2. You can see the program change signal is received by midiox from my MIDI controller. The custom data maps oxm files for some reason are not triggered. I wonder if I need to keep them in a certain folder in order for them to be effective?

I'm not sure why but after quite a long road. I was able to get the custom data maps to change. "Global data map" is checked off when the program is minimized in the system tray. When you right-click you can See the selection -- global data map. I hope to create a web site with some of the files that I've been working on to share with others. Again thanks so much for responding to these e-mails.

I think another mistake I made Was that I was sending the program change signals from midiox itself using the keyboard function within the program rather than sending signals from an external controller
