Title: Data Filter - Note Off to Note On Post by Eddie on Aug 21st, 2008, 7:44pm I'm trying to use the Data Filter to change a Note Off event from any key on channel 1 to a Note On event, but it doesn't seem to work. The input is set to channel 1, event type: Note Off, any note, any velocity. Output is the same, except event type is Note On. I realise this sounds a little weird, and will result in stuck notes, but I'm actually using it to trigger the bypass on an insert effect in Ableton. By default a Note On switches the bypass off, and the next Note On switches it off, i.e. push the key once to switch the effect on and once again to switch it off. What I want to happen is to have the effect on while I hold the key down, and switch off when I release. Normally this would happen by having the bypass switched on on a Note Off message, but this is not possible in Ableton, so my only option is to send another Note On message when I release the key. |
