Title: MAPS dropping when MIDI ports added or removed Post by david_lightdancer on Feb 12th, 2010, 9:36am Here's a problem that's plagued us for years. It's so bad, that we spend 50% of our time in MIDI-OX constantly re-assigning our maps to routes between ports, when the maps drop off. WHENEVER we add or remove MIDI ports, either immediately, or the next time we load the saved profile, ALL THE MAP ASSIGNMENTS DISAPPEAR from their route assignments !! We use about a DOZEN complex maps. So, this is a REAL HASSLE and leads to errors and confusion very often, if we make a mistake when we re-instate the maps again, but didn't realize it. HOW CAN WE AVOID THIS PROBLEM AND MAKE MAPS "STICK" EVEN WHEN WE ADD OR REMOVE MIDI PORTS???? This is really our ONLY COMPLAINT about MIDI-OX. WE LOVE IT. We think it is really awesome, and it has allowed us to do numerous things otherwise impossible or much harder to do any way. In fact, it makes us virtual "MIDI GODS." SO, if this ONE PROBLEM can be solved, we deem it to be COMPLETELY PERFECT !!!! ;) |

Title: Re: MAPS dropping when MIDI ports added or removed Post by Jamie OConnell on Feb 14th, 2010, 3:14pm Thanks for the report. This does seem to be a legitimate bug/problem, and will require an update to address/repair it. We are working on it. For the time being you can work around the problem by selecting and opening all of the MIDI ports on your system (they don't have to be routed to anything -- just opened). The mismatch occurs when different drivers are opened from one session to another, but may also occur when MIDI ports are added or removed as you noted. |
