Title: Help with sending CC command to B4II Post by stevehdj on Feb 5th, 2015, 12:54pm Any help is appreciated. I have a Technics ga3 and use the pedals to send program change and CC data to PC and BK7M using mapping data. Works very well except for one instance. Does not work when sending a cc value to control B4II the leslie speed control. I can send a cc message using the tremolo button on the GA3 which works fine but when sending same command from data map it does nothing. I have check both actions using output monitor and cc commands are exactly same whether tremolo button or data map from pedal. Also have check USB interface and ports etc and all match up any suggestion appreciated Steve |

Title: Re: Help with sending CC command to B4II Post by Breath on Feb 5th, 2015, 6:27pm So you must have a Midi interface in there somewhere. Perhaps it is the the BK7M. And I guess there is a program to run the VST B4II. The set up for BK7M GA3 -> BK MidiIn ->PC ->MidiOx (Map) ->MidiYoke1 ->VST client ->B4II .............................................. \>BK MidiOut ->BK7M (BK7M set to Midi thru) Is this the same as your setup? Title: Re: Help with sending CC command to B4II Post by stevehdj on Feb 6th, 2015, 11:31am Hi Royce The hardware midi chain is a follows> Ga3 midi out (5 pin) > USB Interface in to PC > Midiox > PC out via USB interface > BK7M midi in (5 pin) Within this scheme both Bk7 and B4II are successfully played from GA 3 and I can control rhythm variation and ending using pedals through midiox data mapping. The goal is to add a mapping line to also control B4II rotor speed with pedal note on/off I think you have made me now realize that the B4II which is in standalone mode is being fed from GA3 with the USB interface but within PC may be ahead of Midiox program. Is there a way to identify the B4II program as an output of midox or do I need this as a VST and maybe get midiyoke into the stream somewhere. As reference I can control B4II rotor speed with tremolo button on GA3 which I guess makes sense as it is fed directly from USB interface. Also I am thinking that maybe I should use the USB interface on BK7 into PC rather than using 5 pin din plug and then set up within DAW for control I truly hate have all discrete components and wires etc. Maybe I need to dump all and go to Roland Atelier or Combo?? Hey thanks for you help on this one Steve |

Title: Re: Help with sending CC command to B4II Post by Breath on Feb 6th, 2015, 11:19pm Hi Steve Most Midi interface drivers are multi-client. That is, more than one program can connect to them. When your B4II is connected to the input of your USB Midi device and MidiOx connects to you USB interface the data that comes in to MidiOx is exactly the same as the data that goes to your B4II. As you want MidiOx to change some of this data you need to send the resulting data (combination of the changed data and the data you want to stay the same) to the B4II. That pathway... the data comes from the organ into the PC into MidiOx where some of it is changed and MidiOx sends all of it out to a new Midi interface called MidiYoke1. You need to connect the USB interface input to MidiYoke1 output on the Midi Port Routing window. Make sure you have turned the Data Mapping on before you close the Data Map dialog. MidiYoke is just a software version of a piece of wire. What is sent to the MidiYoke output appears at the MidiYoke input. On your B4II make MidiYoke1 its Midi Input and the changed data that is sent from MidiOx to MidiYoke1 with reach the B4II. All the best Royce |

Title: Re: Help with sending CC command to B4II Post by Breath on Feb 10th, 2015, 6:02pm I'm not sure why it didn't install property, but does MidiYoke appear in the Control Panel (MYokeNT)? Can you set the number of Ports etc? Can you see MidiYoke in MidiOx Options / Midi Devices ? I can't remember if I had any trouble installing it on my Win7 64bit system but it works OK. Perhaps it is installed well enough? I know Jamie is looking at the installers for post XP systems. If you don't have any luck you might like to try http://www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/loopmidi.html It is a bit more complicated to use as it is a program that creates the Midi Interfaces every time it is run and deletes them when you quit the program but very versatile. You start loopMidi (you may not see it appear, but it is likely to be on the toolbar) then start MidiOx. There is also Hubi's Loopback (but could be for earlier systems) or LoopBe1 which could be better for you. All the best Royce |

Title: Re: Help with sending CC command to B4II Post by stevehdj on Feb 12th, 2015, 3:18pm Hi Royce Thanks for note been away from home so will try your recommendation this weekend. I still go back to that if I can see the same data in the midi output screen from either directly using organ trem button or mapping of pedal note on to cc, just does not makes sense that the B4II responds only through the organ trem button. Oh well enough , will not bother any further but will let you know if successful thanks again steve |

Title: Re: Help with sending CC command to B4II Post by stevehdj on Feb 12th, 2015, 6:30pm Royce I must humbly confess I had downloaded the wrong driver. Came home tonite and install driver for NT and voila all works as I had hoped. Only had to turn on midyoke port and load data map and away we go . Thanks again for all the help. Steve |
