Title: default midi music playback device...pls help
Post by Lollie on Oct 26th, 2003, 2:48pm
hi,first i would like to say thankyou for creating such a cool device.
i have been trying to use a vst instrument 'Hypercanvas' with steingberg's V-stack to audition midi files linked together via midi yoke with windows media player.
i have changed my midi music and playback default device to be mid yoke NT 1 under the
sound and audio device properties.

this works, but the timming of all the files speed up and slow down - how can i make the timming more solid?

also one more of the topic - anyway of making a vsti .dll
into a stand alone device(ie:not needing a host).

I think you'll have to do more investigation to see which part of your system is affecting the timing of the MIDI file.  One thing you could try for testing MIDI Yoke is to substitute MIDI-OX for V-Stack.  In MIDI-OX, open MIDI Yoke NT 1 as input and try using the  MS GS Wavetable Synth as output (or better yet, a hardware synth as output).  Play the file Via WMP (which uses MIDI Yoke 1 NT as the default device) into MIDI-OX and then out to the Synth.  Does the file still speedup and/or slow down?

Another thing you could try is to substitute MIDI Bar (attached to MIDI Yoke 1) for WMP.
