Title: Re: how to use vst instruments in Sibelius 3? Post by davidm_uk on Dec 15th, 2006, 7:14am I'm doing it with Sibelius 4 (currently using Maple rather than MIDI Yoke due to Vista installation issues, but it works the same way). This was my first foray into VST instruments, but it worked well - so perhaps it will help you. I downloaded the excellent sfz sample player - http://www.rgcaudio.com/sfz.htm - and a piano soundfont - http://www.pianosounds.com/freesoundfont.htm. sfz has its own mini-host, which I used initially. I loaded the soundfont, configured MIDI input to use one of my virtual MIDI loopback devices, then set Sibelius to play to the corresponding output. It worked fine - and that Piano sounds far better than the one in Kontact Silver in my opinion. Next, I used VSTHost - which is slightly more complicated than the mini-host but has the advantage that it can host other instruments too! http://www.hermannseib.com/english/vsthost.htm This worked with sfz and the (also free!) Crystal Synth available here: http://www.greenoak.com/crystal/ It's amazing how much is available for free... :) I hope that helps you, or maybe someone else (since it's two years since your post)! Post by markspend01 on May 18th, 2013, 12:47pm Hello Gius well i think that Sibelius is a musical technology software for reviewing, modifying.Sibelius is available for both Windows and Mac.Sibelius 5 can be managed with a key pad for allows customers to weed out their musical technology concepts. Thanks!! |
