Title: USB MIDI help
Post by SamC on Dec 8th, 2008, 12:04am
Hello all,

This is my first post.

I'm having difficulties using a USB MIDI cable. The cable I have is a MiStar MIDILINK (http://www.kenable.co.uk/images/usb_to_midi_mistar.jpg). I have had trouble with it in the past and put it down to being a cheap piece of proverbial.

I then this post (http://www.midiox.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=query;action=display;num=1206643557) and found out it maybe a driver related problem. I've downloaded the program and through fiddling about (I have no clue what I'm doing) was able to send data to my device.

The problem I still have though is not being able to receive data from my device.

I have a Casiotone CT-6000 (http://www.sonicftp.com/synth/lcasesynth/ct6000.jpg) sending data to a Roland MC-303 (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/4c/MC-303.jpg) which in return sends it to my computer. It has worked in the past but is very temperamental. There is also a delay of about .3 seconds from note press to note sound.

I'm dabbling about with MIDI-OX but can't figure it out. I was wondering if there is anyway to get the MIDI data to send and to cut out the delay.

Any help is very much appreciated.

Regards,
Sam
