Title: Attack on America - DC update Post by zro1zro on Feb 18th, 2002, 4:49pm Hey all, I'm from the DC area and I was outside on a smoke break watching the jet fighters circle the area. Eveything is still pretty tense here and there are new scares every day. Cops with machine guns walking past the reflecting pool. SWAT team haulin' ass down the parkway to some bomb threat. Scary place to be living in these days. Worst part of it is, I moved here from NYC 4 years ago and my friends from there say the situation there is tense too. I'll never forget seeing the smoke from the Pentagon billowing over the horizon just 15 miles from my job and thinking 'This is not f***ing real!'. But I've also noticed some tightening of friendships. People stopping to help each other and down here that is a miracle. Strange how it took such a thing to make people realise that life is fragile and they need to hold on to it. Well, that's all for now but I wanted to let all the users around the country (and the world) know a little of what I see here in the aftermath. I lost people too but I gained some serious insight.
